Our Services
Installation
Refit - complete window
We strip out the old window frame and make good the opening. We then fit the main reinforced steel frame with re-bar pins resin anchored in place. We then fit the polycarbonate panel, clamp plate and vent plate assembly, before then fitting the outer window from the exterior by fixing this directly into the reinforced inner steel frame. The linkage is then made between the vent plate and the opening window. The window is glazed from the outside and all decorative finishing is completed.
Retrofit parts to damaged windows
Vent plate
We can strip out and re-fit vent plates using our 2-part clamp plate design. To access the rear of the old vent plate we first have to de-glaze and remove the outer window, we then fit the new 2-part vent and clamp plate and then re-fit the window and make good.
Polycarbonate panel
The panels can have been reverse or front fitted, we can replace either design with a new panel including the anti-vibration tape which is fitted to the mullions (vertical) bars behind the polycarbonate panel.
Outer window
If required, we can supply the outer double-glazed window only.
All works are carried out by Saner Construction’s team of dedicated fitters who are security-cleared to work on Government Facilities, so you can be safe in the knowledge that our operatives will be accessing high-security areas safely and professionally.
Product Evolution
We are constantly looking at how to improve our product designs in association with the MOJ Design Standards Department.
We are currently working on barless window solutions for new and retrofit applications. We are also looking at how we can improve the 2005 window design in terms if durability and cost-effective design.
Site survey, specification, costing and scheduling
There are a vast array of window types in the MOJ estate currently. From old wooden windows to damaged modern safe cell 2005 designed units. We aim to cater for most requirements.
Thorough surveying of the prison windows to be replaced/re-fitted is essential to avoid expensive errors and to ensure cell downtime is kept to a minimum. Note we can supply a completely new window or replace parts as detailed under the installation tab.
Our service includes a site visit to produce an accurate specification to cost against. We then create a full estimate with drawings for prison approval and sign-off.
Having a thorough knowledge of MOJ working practices and pinch points, our Project Managers work with the relevant stakeholders to ensure our projects meet all standards and take into account free cell availability, prison shadow person (name?) planning and of course RAMS and associated paperwork.
